Monday motivation

“Fearlessness is like a muscle. I know from my own life that the more I exercise it the more natural it becomes to not let my fears run me.” - Arianna Huffington

When we continually let fears stop us from trying to reach our goals, those fears get bigger and better at keeping us from what we’re trying to accomplish. The fear of making mistakes, failing, or not living up to others’ expectations can become overwhelming. Fears can easily pop up and make it seem like maybe we shouldn’t even try- because what if everything doesn’t work out? The problem with these fears is that they are pretty good at convincing us not to do things. They become roadblocks we put in front of ourselves that slow us down and stop us from traveling in the direction we want to go. If we decide to continue on confidently and not let these fears overwhelm, it often becomes clear that these fears have no importance or benefit to our journey at all other than distracting us.

Yes, the path to your goals can seem scary and there will naturally be doubts and fears along the way, but each time you decide to trust yourself instead of putting faith in your fears, it will be easier not to hold yourself back from your own progress. By reminding yourself that these fears are only holding you back, it gets much easier to be confident in yourself and your journey. Today’s #mondaymotivation quote is a good reminder that it is so much easier to be fearless by practicing over time, just like how we work on technique each day in class to become stronger and improve our dancing. After a while it can become second nature to set off fearlessly toward your goals and trust in yourself to carry you through any challenges and difficult moments you may face.
