Our PTD dancers perform each November, presenting DeCruz Ballet’s production of The Nutcracker as well as in collaboration with Central Texas Youth Ballet’s The Nutcracker (Director- Rena Reeder). They also perform in outreach performances in December.
There is a Spring performance in May for our Spring Mixed Repertoire performances, which have included pas de deux, classical variations, & contemporary works choreographed just for them - dynamic repertoire that truly prepares them for a professional career. They also perform in our in studio showings in June, where budding PTD choreographers are able to showcase their work on their peers as well as performing other classical and neoclassical pieces for the community at DeCruz Ballet.
In May 2022 we took our PTD dancers down to San Jose, Costa Rica where they were invited to perform in the Ballet San Jose Festival! Mr. Karel and Miss Lindsi were selected to be the guest ballet teachers for the festival and were so excited to be able to give our PTDs this unique opportunity!
In August 2023, DeCruz held a 4 day workshop in Kahului, Maui.
In August 2024, we held a 5 day workshop just outside of London, England!
At DeCruz, we recognize the benefit of performing - it is truly a practice!
Additionally, all of our PTD dancers guest in Dripping Springs, TX where we bring many pieces from our own Nutcracker to perform including many lead roles, divertissements and both waltz of the snowflakes and waltz of the flowers. We are so excited to have been invited back after guesting with them in 2023,2024 & 2025. Be on the lookout for tickets to Central Texas Youth Ballet’s “The Nutcracker”. This occurs one weekend after our very own Nutcracker performances here in San Antonio, Texas.

Whether our dancers wish to dance in a ballet or contemporary company, commercial/musical theater programs or university dance programs in their future, DeCruz Ballet prepares them for success in all realms offering mentoring support for each dancer and family.
Aside from their ballet classes, students will benefit from contemporary classes, Horton technique (modern), and learning various styles of dance through choreography as well.

* Mentoring and guidance for seeking a career as a professional dancer, as well as assistance in preparations for company, dance colleges, and summer intensive auditions. Included in this guidance is resume & reel assistance, audition photos, and filming for audition videos. We are very accommodating to our graduating, auditioning dancers who may need to miss a day or two to travel for auditions.
* An encouraging environment to train in, based strongly in our core values at DeCruz: spreading positivity, being yourself, harnessing physical AND mental strength, trusting your training!
* We have our very own Pilates instructor on hand as well as a recommended Physical Therapist to see should any injury arise. Your health is our top priority while you are training with us, and we are passionate about working smart. Injury prevention is an essential part of a dancer’s training and our PTD’s are equipped with this as a part of their weekly schedule (cross-training, PBT & Pilates).
